Day 3 - Tethering & treats!

Today we practiced how to work the dogs while their tethered. We practiced between parents in lieu of the kids just so the parents could get used to the concept. We rollplayed one as the parent controlling the leash and the other parent as the child who is trying to pull away from parent and dog. It's amazing to see how the dogs will allow you to use them as an anchor for your child. What they won't do for a treat! Speaking of treats. Right now we use treats until we have gained enough respect from our dogs that we can begin weaning them. We have treats in the floorboard of the truck, in our coat pockets, in our jeans, in my purse, their everywhere! You should see us all. They weren't kidding when they said there was quite a bit of equipment needed for a service dog. I've been to the store for Kermit like 3 times in 2 days!
