Bonding, sweet bonding......

Danny & Kermit are really beginning to bond. It's a neat thing and really gets mom choked up. Kermit went to St. John's today for one of Danny's doctor's appointments. The doctor, as well as many other people, were so impressed with Kermit. The presence of Kermit is really giving Danny more independenced as now when Danny starts vearing away from us, we remind him to help Kermit by holding his leash (Danny's leash). Danny gives us a look like he's thinking...."Oh yah, I got to help with the dog". Sure he's wondering why we're bringing the dog in the 1st place! In the van tonight Kermit climbed up into the middle seat and lapped across Danny for the whole way. Danny was recipricating the attention. Mom was snapping pics at the stoplight! What a Kodak moment!

Cool Kermit

Kenny is convinced that Kermit needs sunglasses for the summer. Kermit seems to think he doesn't have the right ears for them. After all, if he moves his head they fall! And for those of you that have met Kermit, he's a nose and sure can't keep that head still for too long. Oh well, he's a patient guy so will continue to let Kenny try. After all, anything for attention!

Kermit goes to Duncan's!

Saturday night we went to Duncan's, a local bar & grill, for dinner. Duncan't was just one of the many places that supported our fundraiser. Karen (pictured w/Kermit) was a big help and part of our fundraising committee. Kermit even had a drink at Duncan's (a bowl of water of course), but he was still happy, but a little disappointed that we wouldn't let him have any chicken wings!

Kermie

Kermit is a beautiful dog both inside and out. He has such a great personality he's so easy to love. And he cares about everyone. Despite Danny being the most difficult one in the house to bond with, Kermit still manages to bond just because he loves everyone around him. Kermie is a keeper!

On a funny note, we did an outdoor track yesterday. We were supposed to go to Creve Coeur Park, a popular local park just a mile or so from our house. Well, dad had a better idea. Lets just say never track at the Katy trail on an April day when it's 75 degrees! I don't know who had a more challenging experience, mom & Kenny trying to get Danny to pick up the pace and stay on the right side of the trail or dad trying to let Kermit track on the right side of the trail. Our next track we will definitely stick with our original plan......the park! The good part was that Kermit had a very successful track. He found his boy in no time, despite a very windy day. Way to go Kermie!

Happy 21st Birthday Danny!!!!!!!

It's so hard to believe that Danny turned 21 on the 3rd. Although the 1st 10 years or so did not fly by, the last 10 sure have! We had a small party with family, many of his cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents were there. We're blessed to have so many people who care so much for Danny. Kermit had a blast at his 1st party. I think he's ready for more! Tricia had a blast when we tried getting Kermit to give her 'kisses'. Tricia got a kick out of the fact that Kermit was tall enough to reach her face! Danny got lots of great things for his birthday. Kermit even got some goodies too! The past 21 years with Danny has sure taught all of us a lot about love, faith, compassion, and most of all strength.
